Washington Examiner: How to become an ‘influential’ journalist on Twitter

Our head of marketing, Audrey Hungerman, was featured on Washington Examiner for her quotes surrounding our Top Political Journalists list. Hungerman focused on how to become and “influential” journalist on social.

“Mainly, you follow someone because they’re tweeting content you’re interested in,” Hungerman told the Washington Examiner. “The content they share should be about politics and what interests you.”’

Social News: Authentication & Verification

Authentication: Tumblr

Tumblr announced a new security feature that allows users to verify their account is, indeed, theirs. Tumblr is one of the last social accounts to install this 2-step feature. Users can enable this feature by clicking “enable” and receiving a text message with the authentication code that you then enter into the Tumblr platform.

Verification: Quora

Quora verified their first account which was none other than Barack Obama. Obama first reached out to use the platform to advertise the Affordable Healthcare Act by answering questions like “What is it like to play basketball with President Obama?”. Quora has other celebrity users, including Ashton Kutcher
